My UK Cinema Trek – make your suggestions

As I’ve posted numerous times, the past year – 18 months hasn’t been the best of times for me. Without going into detail (because I can’t), just as things were looking brighter even more complications have come to the fore that are going to need my time and attention. Why am I writing this? Well, in short, it’s put a fairly big full stop in my plans for a long break this summer to refresh and recharge after all that’s gone on. But I am planning on having several short getaways all lined by a theme & idea that I’m asking for your help on. Yes YOU.

My grand scheme is to base my summer on doing as many short breaks to see the UK’s best, quirkiest, friendliest, most interesting cinema houses, as I can. Maybe its a house that has great original architecture. It could be that it runs interesting events, runs fantastic repertoire, operates a quirky concept or is set in a unique location. It doesn’t even have to be somewhere that you’ve been too, I’m quite happy to hear about places you’ve heard of and have always wanted to see. Whatever it is you think makes it a great place to watch movies, please send me a tip, info and (where possible) url’s. When I get an opportunity to get away from the impending family duties required of me, I’ll speed my way to the places suggested, tweet and blog my experiences and hopefully along the way manage to find time to get a nice little break.

So lovely people of the internet and twitter, please guide me. You can sign into the comments below using a variety of credentials (discqus/twitter/facebook). You can tweet me @ianmilleruk. You can email me at ian (at) rocktographer.co.uk – please subject your emails ‘Cinema Trek’ so that I can sort through them. I look forward to your suggestions and instructions, with a bit of luck I’ll get away on my first mini adventure in just over two weeks.
